Consignment

The Consignment Process

• Send pictures of your dress and basic info (brand, size, original price, year purchased, any major alterations including the approximate height the dress is hemmed to) to hello@thedressyattic.ca
• If we choose to accept your dress on consignment, we will give you a quote and send a copy of the contract for you to read over
• If you agree with the terms, then we will set up an appointment for you to bring in the dress
• Once your dress sells, we will contact you within two weeks to arrange payment (usually e-transfer)

 

Contract Summary

• The owner of the dress gets 60% of the sale once the dress sells (unless it required cleaning upon arrival)
• The contract is for a minimum of a year. At the year mark, we will reach out to you to arrange a pick-up IF we think it no longer has potential to sell. If we still think it is sellable, we will keep the contract rolling.

 

We do **NOT** accept:

• prom dresses (as of June 2023) WILLING TO CONSIDER IVORY, CHAMPAGNE, BLUSH, BLACK PROM

• bridesmaid dresses

• short, knee-length or tea length wedding dresses

• three-piece or two-piece mother-of-the-bride dresses

• flower girl or any child size dresses

• dresses hemmed to 5'3" or shorter (if you are 5'3" and wore at least a 1" heel that is OK)

• any dresses purchased in or before 2020

• dresses with a retail value of less than $500
